タイトル: 紀伊半島南東沖地震2004（その1）

抄録: 2004年9月5日19時7分（日本時間，以下同じ）紀伊半島南東沖でマグニチュード6．9の地震が，また同日23時57分にはマグニチュード7．4の地震が発生し，その後も活動が続いた。今回の活動領域は，発生が懸念されている東南海，南海地震の想定震源断層の境界部分であり，その活動が注目されている。気象庁によると，今回活動のあった領域では，最近あまり地震が発生しておらず，その意味でも興味深い。本研究において震源分布を解析した結果，今回の活動で気象庁が前震，本震とした地震は，それぞれ近接してはいるが，それらは別の地震で，それぞれ断層面が異なっており，別の小規模な地震活動も誘発されるなど，複雑な活動様式となっている。; An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred SE of Kii peninsula at 19:07 on 5 September 2004, and many earthquakes followed at the same place. This is the boundary between image faults of the Tounankai and the Nankai earthquake which will happen in the near future, so present seismic activity is in the spotlight. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMT) indicated that at this place few earthquakes occurred recently. Fore shock and Main shock decided by JMT have a different fault plane and a different strike, so we regard that they belong to different activity. The rapture of the main shock extended to the NE direction and stopped. New events occurred that were thought to be triggered by the activity.
